Chocolatey Heaven


Another recipe...sorry not sorry...such a foodie! I thought I would share my brekkie with you today because it was chocolatey heaven and a lot of girls ask what kind of thing I eat for breakfast! So here's what I had this morning!

I am such a sweet tooth so any way I can make a healthy alternative to something sugary and sweet then I am keen! I love pure maple syrup with my oats and I don't need a lot because it is so sweet but this is an awesome alternative for something that tastes a bit naughty but is actually good for you! I'm a bit useless because I tend not to measure food out when I cook (that's a trait I get from my Grandma) I prefer to just 'see how it goes' and taste test as I go along! Plus people like their foods at different consistencies etc so sorry for the lack of precise measurements - just keeping it real!


Rolled Oats (around 50g)

Milk of your choice (I used semi-skimmed and just keep adding until the porridge is at a consistency I like)

Half a teaspoon of chia seeds

1 teaspoon of organic raw cacao powder

Mix all together and voila! This super yummy brekkie will keep you feeling full for longer as well as fuelling your body for the day.

Chia seeds are a good source of fibre, omega 3 and protein as well as being packed with vitamins and minerals making these clever little seeds a great option for veggies to get some extra protein in their diet. The brand I use are gluten free and GMO free and great to add into your oats, smoothies, baking and even salads for an extra nutrient boost!

Cacao powder is a good source of antioxidants, magnesium and iron as well as being naturally high in fibre and protein. The brand I use is gluten free, dairy free, nut free, soy free and even suitable for vegans which makes it a great source of nutrients for any vegans out there! A really great option to use in oats, smoothies and when baking to create a cleaner chocolatey flavour! Yum!
